At GSS Impact Development Company, we are committed to promoting transparency and sharing knowledge about access and benefit-sharing (ABS) of genetic resources and traditional knowledge. In 2024, we had the privilege of presenting the Brogota Platform at a special event during COP16, where its transformative potential for biodiversity protection and fair access to genetic resources and traditional knowledge was highlighted. Created and developed by GSS, with the support and partnership of leaders such as Natura, the National Confederation of Industry (CNI), TozziniFreire Advogados, and Amyris, our platform is designed to be an essential resource for users around the world – from companies and governments to traditional communities and academics – who wish to understand and compare global ABS legislations.

With 198 countries registered, the Brogota Platform facilitates access to up-to-date legislation and underscores the importance of clear and harmonized policies. During the event, experts emphasized that the wide diversity of national regulations poses challenges for companies, researchers, and local communities seeking alignment and legal certainty. Through Brogota, we provide essential data so that all stakeholders can navigate these complexities and contribute to the fulfillment of the Nagoya Protocol.

💡 In the words of our Director of Biodiversity, Francine Leal, Brogota is more than just a data platform – it is a catalyst for the creation of consistent policies and a support tool for innovation and sustainability. We remain dedicated to strengthening this resource, driving the exchange of experiences, and fostering an environment of compliance and clarity for everyone involved.

This movement is only possible thanks to all the partners and collaborators who are helping transform Brogota into a truly global and dynamic platform. Let’s continue to promote sustainable development and respect for traditional cultures and knowledge together!
